Mt Hood hops, named after a mountain in Oregon, is developed from Hallertau Mittelfruh. It’s considered a ‘soft’ American variety and common in lagers and wheat ales. It retains the fresh, earthy noble hop aroma and, with alpha acids between 4 and 7%, it is a good choice for a finishing hop. Mt Hood is available at Barley’s Homebrewing Supplies in pellets or in organic Bitterbine whole leaf.
